OK KC 114 Restoration

I am currently doing a complete restoration of KC 114. I am estimating that this boat was built in 1968. It was equipped with a wood mast and boom, a fixed 30 degree rudder, and very few unusable fittings. I have cut the deck off, and am re-doing all under deck support structure (most likely being overbuilt, but I want this boat to last another 40 years), installing a new mast step and deck bearing, and upgrading to an alloy mast. Pictures can be found in the gallery (KC 114 Restoration), and ...

If anybody is interested in becoming an annual class member, please PM Dean G. Class membership gives the Canadian OK Class up to 3 spots at the World Championships for the year, a vote at the OKDIA Annual General Meeting, and many other benefits that only membership can provide.

Since we are trying to attract new members, we will keep the annual dues low (we were thinking $10/year for associate membership and $20/year for owners of OK Dinghies).

I have been sailing and racing for 30+ years, in boats from 8' (Sabot) to 92' (Schooner - Maple Leaf). My heart has always been with dinghies. I spend most of my time racing my Fireball in Victoria ( I live just North in Cowichan Bay) on Vancouver Island. My OK (#114) is currently undergoing a full renovation, and I am hoping to be back on the water soon.
